Barnes Bull Riding Challenge is coming to Ames, March 2-3

Proceeds benefit the Iowa State Rodeo Team, tickets $15
The 2018 Barnes Bull Riding Challenge tour is heading to Ames, Iowa on March 2-3, 2018. Current students and Iowa State rodeo alum are working jointly on the fundraiser for the rodeo team.   Stock Contractors Marty Barnes (1984) and Westin Barnes (2011) are producing the event and hired Bullfighter Luke Moore (2012) and Announcer Jeff Lucas  (2015).

"As alumni, dad and I are looking forward to coming back to Iowa State and helping the rodeo club produce an event of this caliber," stated Westin Barnes.   "This is the second tour stop of our Barnes Bull Riding Challenge for the new season.  We are excited about some of our new bulls, and the contestants entered that we saw at the conclusion of our last season finale during the Minnesota State Fair."

Performances will take place on Friday March 2 and Saturday March 3 at 7 p.m. in the Hansen Agriculture Student Learning Center on the campus of Iowa State University. The doors open at 6 p.m. for concessions and shopping  among the western merchandise vendors including Hutch Leather Works.

"Our goal of this event is to help raise awareness and funds for the Iowa State Rodeo Team.  The money will help the students compete in the Great Plains Region of NIRA (National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association) and hopefully attract new team members," commented Marty Barnes.
